Job description

We are looking for a talented General Manager for our office in Sofia, Bulgaria as the current Manager is stepping up in the company. Opened at the end of 2019, the showroom, office and sample room count 25 people in Sofia. Our office is growing at a fast pace (5M EUR turnover projected on 2022) and truly nourishes the group’s growth. This flat structure needs the talent of an internationally experienced candidate who will report to the founder and to the managing partner. We plan a smooth transition: the candidate and the current GM will work together for a few months to ensure a good handover. You can count on the managing partner and company’s founder’s help on a daily basis when needed and for any aspects of the business.

An exciting challenge in a growing company where evolution possibilities are real and where meritocracy is truly valued. We offer an attractive relocation salary package in line with your experience

  • As a charismatic leader, you have a natural ability to federate, develop and motivate the teams! You will be managing all the operations with a contemporary approach.
  • You will be responsible of all the poles of our business: development (sample room’s organisation), sales and production (merchandising teams follow up and development), quality, finance and administration (with the help of our financial director).
  • You’ll maintain and develop strong partnerships with our partner knitters – you are diplomatic and have a good understanding of different cultural practices.
  • You will have a managerial role while going into details (operationally speaking). You will be involved deeply in the operations and will acquire a strong understanding of the needs of the business: production and developments capacity booking, recruitments, taking the lead on potential issues and delays, direct contact with customers and factories.
  • You’ll be accessible and will follow up the teams on a daily basis while always seeing the big picture (you anticipate and prevent). Stressful situations do not scare you and you have a problem-solving mindset.
  • You are a team player and will find a way to involve the appropriate people of your team in important decisions while sharing concerns on a regular basis with top management of each entity. This means partnering with the managers of each branch and top management
  • You have a natural federative spirit and can make sure the teams are properly and rightly staffed. You will recruit and headhunt good profiles preventively and when needed.
  • You are passionate about beautiful products; you understand knitwear and always thrive to bring developments and productions to the next level. You have a real product sensitivity and you are able to transform our customers’ needs into concrete products.
  • You also thrive to bring the company to the next level in terms of revenues, margins and reputation.

Specific needs

•You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a textile production environment at a managerial level.

•You speak English and have a strong will to learn basic Bulgarian. A knowledge of French would be a real advantage.

•You have an excellent sense of organisation; communication and you are able to blend in an existing structure while adapting to different types of personalities, cultures and processes. Organisation is key and you know how to structure agendas.

•You are diplomatic person while being firm when needed.

•You have a good perception of the fashion industry and its sense of urgency. You’re able to balance between what’s feasible and what’s not while prioritizing on the ground with factories.
